Before Wonderlands x Showtime happened to him, Rui had always felt so alone (apart from when he was with either both or one of his childhood friends, of course). He was prejudiced, ignored, avoided, et cetera. He stayed quiet during class and had never spoken much to anybody in school other than the school nurse, his teachers, his friend Kusanagi Nene, his other friend Akiyama Mizuki and some of their friends. Nobody had heard too much of his voice before. His past left him scarred and insecure and his chronic disease didn't help with his depression... and neither did those rumours.
