This sounds like something straight out of a video game well it's not. Leslie O'Connor and her siblings Damon and Magenta are the only to survive an apocolyspe. For days they fend off the zombies with their newly discovered superpowers, but then a helicoptor comes and takes them away where they find others like themselves. And they, along with, 585 kids the same age as them, will have to save the world.

I am dying. I know this because i can feel all my senses leaving me. I can see flashes, recollections, of my past. They preen at me through my lashes. But I am calm. Of course she doesn't always stick her landings. At first her landings are as messy as is her life. She's lost her mother, her family home, her faith and now thinks she may be losing her mind. Supercilious self-absorbed Amy (17) has the uncanny ability to get others to do what she wants. She says, ever so sweetly, "I'd prefer..." Dad always called it "wrapping others around her little finger syndrome." If she wanted she could ask a perfect stranger to hand over his car keys and he'd have to oblige. The oldest sister Meg (21) has dreams and visions about the world's near future. She's also very intuitive.
