Elise Holister has cystic fibrosis, and has been a permanent resident at the Seattle Grace Hospital since she was diagnosed at the ripe old age of 1. That was 13 years ago in 1992, and Elise is now 14 years old, and on her second rejection of a lung transplant.

It's 2005 and the newest set of Interns roll into the Hospital in hopes of being the next big name doctor in the medical world and bringing in their seemingly generational petty drama and ignorant winning with them.

Alongside those doctors is a recently diagnosed fellow cystic fibrosis patient, Sam Moseley, a 16 year old teen boy who's life has been ripped out from beneath him. Literally.
