He'd been kicked out before the war, and they didn't want him back. He's alone again.
Lance, Pidge, and Hunk are employed by the Garrison, Shiro leads missions off world, Allura and Coran are establishing a new world for the Alteans who'd survived, and the Blade don't need him.
Keith works in a coffee shop and gets by the best he can, on the little money he earns.
This story is loosely based on the paladins of Voltron.
I have not watched all the seasons and have changed the backstory of some characters.
