Giora, once a beautiful planet, tarnished by the greed of the gods ruling over it. Greed took the gods, warped them, and thus a curse was unleashed upon the lands of Giora. Only one can change everything to what it once was, but are they willing to make the sacrifice?

The people of Giora were ruled over by unseen gods. The gods were greedy beings, always craving more than what they had, and doing anything in their power to get what they wanted. The people were forced to worship them, though they did nothing but cause pain and suffering to the people of this earth. Legend had it that they were once human, but their greed consumed them, turning them into what they were now, disfigured, humanoid creatures unable to live without the power they stole, and now possess as their own.

When the gods got angry over the lack of proper sacrifice, they released their power down to the planet in the form of crystalline figures, as punishment, to destroy the human race as it was. When these pieces hit the earth, they let out a sparkling dust, not actually destroying the planet itself. The dust was a form of Essence, the power of the gods in a physical form, and it spread through the populations like a plague, only affecting children under twelve.

The Lurgy infected the youth like a plague, warping the child's body, DNA, and would give them godlike powers. Though, because these children's bodies and minds were not fully formed, they could not control these abilities. Because of this, panic and chaos spread throughout the kingdoms, and no one knew how to live peacefully anymore.

Soon, the gods realized they made a mistake, the people of Giora no longer cared for the gods, and with that, the gods lost their only source of life. They made the decision to use little Essence of what they had left to create a human, a metal wielder, to retrieve their power and send it back. Hawthorn, the gods creation.
