A little after the ST4 finale, the bylers/hoppers decide to stay in hawkins after they believe Vecna may be coming back. After everything going on, El knows that she loves Mike but they want to take a break from their relationship because even though Mike said he loved El, he felt things were moving too fast. While they are back Will is staying with Mike, as Will is looking around he discovers hellfire, emotion and chaos ensues with Will's feelings of betrayal and Mikes feelings of guilt leading to the relooking of their relationship.
