Strong female lead. Based off the Rangers Apprentice novels, as well as Brotherband, and Royal Ranger. Set after these events with a new main character. Not entirely accurate to the canon.

In an insignificant corner of Araluen sits an inn run by a man named Samuel. After the war against Morgarath he returned home only to find a wreck of what he once had. Disheartened by the turn of events far from in his favor, he must learn how to get by. When a Ranger visits his life is turned upside-down. Suddenly he's caught in the middle of action when all he wanted was peace and quiet, his humble village in danger, and only he can save it. -- Trigger/content warning for a little bit of blood/gore and self-sacrificial feelings. I didn't go too far with either because I cannot handle gore or want to make you upset, just enough for the plot. If you've read Flanagan's Ranger's Apprentice or Brotherband Chronicles (both for tweens and without any TW's that I know of) and been okay, you should be perfectly fine here.Kumpleto

"Let them go, Dante." I whip my head to see a small boy standing the clearing with blonde hair and a green cloak hanging from shoulders. He isn't very tall however he holds his stance well. He doesn't seem to be more than Cassandra's age. Maybe 12 at most. I abruptly turn my head back hearing the man holding a sword to my throat chuckling with a sinister grin. "Oh, poor boy, what are you go to do about it?" The yellow teeth gleam as he begins stalking towards the boy who does not look the least bit fazed. I look around at the other men who are following the leader. I pull Cassandra tighter to my back as I take small steps back. I keep my eye trained on the men but also fear for the naive boy. "Do you really want to test me Dante?" He asks raising a single eyebrow. For a minute the men stop their movements. I see their hesitation for fear... Fear of what? I take the moment to stick Cassandra behind a nearby tree. She crouches down while I pull my sword out from its place. "How do you know my name?" The scoundrel raises his sword challenging towards the boy before taking a final step towards him. Then the unexpected happens. The young boy chuckles so darkly. It sounded almost... demonic. All the men instinctively raise their swords. "Oh Dante, I didn't know your name... but you know someone dear to me." "Spit it out boy!" The once grinning man is now looking around frantically. I continue my eyes scanning the small boy. He looks directly me and gives me a small nod before saying one word that caused all hell to breaks loose. "Artemis." Artemis is not an ordinary girl. She grew up in the wilderness after being shunned due to unique abilities and her different physical attributes. This is a Legolas love story but if any of you have read my other fan fictions then you know I love character development and so this is likely to take a long time to get started. Also, I know there are like a billion fan fictions with the same plot, that being a female elf who is part of the fellowship and ends up falling in love with Legolas. This is a fanfiction of the AWESOME series of " Ranger's Apprentice". This story is in the modern world with magic and powers. This book is also a story that I did with my two friends. We each have our characters. Mine is Grace Stratton, a soldier (A.K.A a knight) and Orson Xipil, a dragon. My one friend has the characters of Alexa 'Alex' Chayse Sovereign, who is a Ranger. She also has Corvin, Cassius, Lysandra Gorlan, who is the son of Moragarth. Then the last two characters Seri Annabelle "Anna" Awentia Illume, and Tokala Myrridin Viveza.
