Liam's brows knotted together in confusion and his innocent brown eyes looked deeply into mine. He shook his head slightly. "I-I don't understand." He stuttered out. "I have been using you for the past month to get publicity." I couldn't seem to look into his eyes any longer so I looked down at my feet. My chest was constricting in a strange pain. "Using me?" He slowly said those two words, testing them out. I peeked up at him to gauge his expression. I knew it was a dumb idea to look at him in the first place but what I saw I didn't expect. He looked extraordinarily calm...The calm before the storm, I guess you could say. His eyes met mine and that's when everything clicked. "Using me." Liam shook his head in understanding causing me to knot my eyebrows in confusion this time. Why was he so calm about this? Why does it sound like he understands? "Yes, using you..." I spoke slowly. "Mean it." - Do you ever feel like drowning so long it doesn't feel right to come up? That it's just normal to be underwater? Liam, peering his eyes up from the water, contemplated. "This just feels like yesterday" he thought. He had recently moved into his flat, the fresh whiff of freedom felt sharp in his lungs yet he could breathe. He could finally breathe. The life he's dreamed of, the future he craved, everything felt in place, everything was going according to plan. Or so he thought. He thought he had it all figured out, he thought he had it all planned. He knew, he knew he had everything settled. But fate had other plans. His past had a way of haunting him. History, in a person so devastatingly evil, he couldn't move just thinking about them. He's been followed, but something's off. Way off. An ex? No, certainly not. But they might just be Liam's greatest downturn. Or his biggest risk.
