2022, the year of 'love' Nobody actually cared about peoples sexualitys unless it benefits them. People weren't homophobic, but they also weren't as supportive. If a man was gay, he'd be judged. If a woman was lesbian, she'd be judged. But if someone was bisexual, everyone is too. It doesn't make sense. It definitely didn't make sense to this one 17 year old. Renaé Belle. She understand somethings about the community, considering she's apart of it. She wasn't OUT out, but she was out to her parents. Renaé's dad didn't quite understand what 'lesbian' meant but he was still welcome to learning about it. He was supportive of his daughter even though he knew nothing. Her mom was very proud of her daughter, not only because she came out to them, but because she wasn't scared to express her true feelings to them. Renaé's first day of school was coming up. Yeah she was scared, but that wasn't going to stop her from being herself. She could even find her love interest. She just hopes she doesn't run into homophobes this school year.

"Kala's dark, smooth skin and Kelly's pale, heavily freckled face contrasted so vibrantly I wondered how they could both be so beautiful. They were like a living yin-yang. Kala sat with legs crossed and arms on her armrests, calmly waiting for the curtains to open. Kelly was talking and laughing excitedly with people all around her. Both girls radiated energy. Kelly's was all kinetic. Kala's was pure potential. Fire sat next to water." Analee didn't have an LGBTQ community to join. In her small town, she WAS the LGBTQ community. When two new girls move into town her senior year, one older, one younger, everything changes for her. It turns out falling in love is harder than she thinks. Even with a steadfast belief in true love, Analee finds navigating romance, friendships, and family something that has to be figured out one day at a time.
