Aria Caddel dreams of having a love story like her parents. But she would rather spend the whole day with her friends at the beach. When her mother tells her that she needs to find a job for the summer instead of doing nothing with her life she figures the best idea would be lifeguarding at her local beach with a few of her friends. That way she can be doing everything she wants to all summer while getting paid. Yet when she finds out that the person she would rather strangle than even breathe near applied as well she immediately regrets her decision.

Xander Madden is every girl's dream. Well, every girl but Aria. Xander is a dream boat, you could say. Smart, talented, and extremely handsome. Aria would describe him differently. The two teenagers have been enemies since they could remember. However, lifeguarding together means they have to make up and play nice for the summer, which isn't going to be easy for either of them.

The two must find a way to be civil around each other which in Arias's mind means ignoring him at all costs. Except for some reason she is constantly finding herself near him. Obviously, she would never think of him as anything more than her enemy and the person she hates most in the world...right?
