His lips connected with mine, stopping me in the middle of my fear and shock. I kissed him back. I don't know why I did but it just happened. Our tongues battled and our lips had minds of their own. I broke away from him breathless. I stared at him in pure bewilderment. He gazed at me with an unknown emotion. I had never even seen that emotion. 

"Why did you kiss me?" I asked confused.

"To get a reaction from you. You were scared of heights and I was worried because you wouldn't respond so I did the next best thing", he explained.

"Uh, thanks?" I said.

This situation was awkward and weird because I loved that kiss. Never in my life had I had a kiss like that. I had felt so alive. We both looked away. I guess it's awkward for him too.
