"What's it to you," she huffed, choosing to put on a brave face. She couldn't let the Alpha know the effects he was having on her, so she chose to let out the anger she felt.

His eyes narrowed in response, though he didn't move from his relaxed stance. His body language suggested he was entirely too confident that Selene either couldn't or wouldn't get away from him, which put her on edge. She decided to let it fuel the fire in her heart even more.

"You're in my territory. That makes you my business."

"Well I don't plan to stay in your territory, so you can forget that I ever was your business," she spat back. She knew she was pushing it. She could sense her wolf's hackles rising. Her wolf was growing very irritated at the fact that, instead of expressing gratitude, Selene was spitting venom at the man who saved her.

"Even if I want to forget you, my wolf won't let me," Zeke said softly, and Selene heard a huskiness in his voice that sent a shiver of unfamiliar feelings down her spine.
