This story is about what would happen if Cinderella didn't get to try on the glass slipper or if Gaston had defeated the beast. I will warn you that this story might make you kind of emotional if you have a serious connection with some of the characters. While writing this, I teared up a little over what I was writing. A few chapters might also get a little mature. There shouldn't be anything sexual, but there are a few chapters involving death and suicide... You have been warned!

Maybe he doesn't even want to be a prince? This Prince Charming is hopelessly in love with his best friend Adam and has no intention at all to marry whoever owns the glass shoe. In this retelling of a classic tale, Mariette struggles through life with a stepmother that hates her. Note on Setting: This takes place in a kind of fictional France (hence many of the names, though they speak English). Postscript: "Lady" is a title given to woman married to a man with an estate, much like "Queen" is given to a woman married to a man with a castle. "Mistress" is given to a woman yet to inherit an estate, though of high-class breed (one would not refer to a beggar or maid as 'Mistress'). Monsieur (pronounced Mi-syur, despite the spelling) is a title given to a man that has yet to or has inherited an estate.

Sweet Dreams: A Modern Fairytale by bluepuzzlepiece

This is inspired by a writing project I supervised when I worked with an elementary student. This writing project was a group project to make their own spin on a fairy tale assigned to the group. It had to have all the main points of their fairy tale, start and and with the common phrases of a fairy tale, and it had to have their own creative spin. My student did Cinderella, and it was so fun to work with him and his group, I wanted to make my own. Our dear Cinderella loves to bake, but she's not exactly looking for love when an opportunity to make a name for herself comes up. As for Prince Charming, he is looking for love, just not in the usual fairy tale fashion. And as usual, there's some extra mischief from the step family, royal family, and fairy godmother. Heaven only knows what's going to happen, right?
