To help in the evolution of souls and life, Azrael and her choir have been smuggling souls out of both Heaven and Hell and freeing them to live again. She believes that both eternal damnation or idle paradise can mean the stagnation of a soul's potential. When Hell becomes aware of her activities it beings an active hunt of her choir. Angels of Wrath also pursue her. Souls are an important commodity to places like Heaven and Hell. Meanwhile, a shadowed spirit is plotting to seize control of the world and its souls. Having agents in Heaven, Hell, and in many the fog wreathed places in between worlds, this Shade will come after Azrael and those closest to her.

*Written in third person* Since the beginning of time their has been God and his angels. Seven angels: Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Selaphiel, Raguel/Jegudiel, and Barachiel. What most people don't know is that there was one more angel. God's favorite, Jackson, is the forgotten angel. Jackson was quite the troublesome young man and often disobeyed God. He would spend time fooling around with mortals on Earth and spreading bad news to all. Finally God had reached his limit, and banished Jackson to the underworld where he was dammed to rule over the sinner's souls for all eternity. At first, Jackson saw this as a good thing, but soon after he realized that this gave him another reason to hate God. He could no longer do the things he wanted as often as he pleased. He was allowed to go to Earth, but only for short amounts of time to collect souls and punish the dammed. But when Jackson finally finds himself someone to love, what will happen? Stephanie gets nightmares of her mom's death in the car accident, but also visions a man in a cloak who saves her from drowning in the frozen water. "Who is this man or thing? What odes he want with me?" She can also sense that there's someone's watching her while she sleeps. Will Stephanie be able to protect her heart & soul from Death? Death will learn how to become human & fall in love with the girl that could save his life too.
