Everybody knows about inventor Wayne Rider and his new invention, the Love Machine. Everybody is dying to try it out. Supposedly, the Love machine can match you up with your soul mate.
It's success rate? 98%.
Wendy Evans, a realistic and now junior in high school never planned on getting involved with such a toy. She believed in creating her own destiny, but destiny threw her for a loop and got her tangled in anyway when her best friend gets involved. What's worse is that she also seems to be insanely attracted to the son of the inventor. But then, who wouldn't be?
Unfortunately, this attraction seems to be on a whole different level.
Throw in a man on a mission and a puzzle that needs to be put together as well as the fact there is more to the story than meets the eye you get...well, you'll find out now won't you?

High school in the early 90s: it was before cell phones and social media, but the problems were the same. How do you get the guy you're interested in to notice you? What happens if you fall in love with your best friend? Why does physics class keep factoring into your love life? This novella is loosely based on my own high school experiences... but sort of an alternate version of them. You can only make one set of choices in life, so it's fun to explore what could have been - but wasn't - in fiction. Also, set in 1991-92, this is kind of a period piece now! In some ways it's a love letter to the teen books I read back in the 80s and 90s, in particular those by Ellen Conford and Paula Danzinger. I hope you enjoy it. When the Mars missions started to get momentum I never knew I would be a part of it. The red planet was a great platform to gain my freedom from my lost love. I was so confused about the situation that it bordered on obsession with my mentor he was my sponsor for the mission as you need to have one to vouch for your ability to get right all the aspects of the training. The human factor involved in the highly computerized setup was a glitch that set everything out of sink so the mentor system was created to help the astronaut focus on getting the job done. I did the unthinkable crime of falling in love with my mentor. So not cool,so not professional and to top it off embarrassing for me. How do I get away from this problem. Make sure I go to Mars and not have to face him again. Even if it means I never come back again.Complete
