This story will all be posted as one "chapter," but is a complete short story. I wrote it for a college assignment, and decided to post it so I wouldn't lose it if my laptop ever crashed...
This is a story about a college student trying to find her way, and wanting to be sure she's made the right choice for her life's work. On her last travel adventure before starting her career, something happens that will change her life forever. Will it be a good change, or a bad one? Read on to find out.
P.S. Sorry for the terrible introduction, I'm really not good at descriptions. But, just know that there is a lot of build up in the short story, a bit of action, (an accident included) and a resolution that is technically not a cliffhanger, but could lead to a bigger story...

--So much on this earth is a miracle. But we fail to see them -- Two friends. One ceremony. One terrible accident. When Jade ended up with something life changing, she thought everything was over for her. And maybe it was. Someone can light a small flame of hope in everyone of us. But sometimes it turns into an inferno and burns us all. I had to write this for a school project and my friend said it was pretty good, so now I'm just "Jesus take the wheel" I got inspired by Disney's "Encanto", but the storyline and the characters are made by me. My first story! I'm so excited and so not prepared... Okay, a friend of mine told me that I should do a story. I asked her about what. She said whatever I feel like story. One Plus Two Minus One
Beth thinks a casual encounter with a stranger at a party is a one-time thing, but he seems to have other plans. She is a brilliant young mathematics professor, and he turns out to be one of her students. Sleeping with him is against her college's rules, and may have a grave professional cost, but Beth is attracted enough to Ethan that she simply doesn't care. She breaks the rules, and sees him again, and begins to realize that she has become too lost in her work and forgotten how wonderful such moments can be. No-one is getting hurt, she thinks, and no harm is being done, so she sees no reason not to have her fun. Unfortunately, Beth is also in a long-term, long-distance, very off and on relationship that suddenly turns out to be on again. Robert is moving to be near her, to live with her, and although she doesn't want to give up sex with Ethan, she owes Robert something too. She can’t simply tell Robert they are done. She decides to be selfish and keep everything secret. Because she wants to put herself first, and because what Robert doesn't know won't hurt him, and because by keeping secrets she may, in the end, hurt everyone less. But mostly because she still wants Ethan, and doesn't seem to be able to make herself stop. One Plus Two Minus One is a novel of lust and desire, of the sensuality and confusion of meeting someone new, of the chaos and harm that secrets can cause, of avoiding choices, and making choices, and of foolishly hoping things will work out for the best. ====== I think Wattpad's R18 filters struck again. A Chance Encounter
She'd been his fan for about a year. When the chance for her to possibly meet him came around she jumped on it and that day changed her life forever. Trigger warnings: Anxiety, Death, Wounds, First Aid, Rehab. Oahu, Hawaii. After being brought up in the sand, sea, getting muddy feet and staying out until it was way past your bedtime. Olivia decided it was time to follow the path of dwelling with the dolphins. Professional surfing, and a little bit of football, drinking, and girls. After taking a job as a lifeguard to pass time between her souped up life a freak accident on the beach causes Olivia to put her and everyone around her at risk. When it all takes a turn for the worst, the consequences are life threatening for Olivia. With the incident leaving her helplessly damaged in unimaginable ways, she is unable to work, practice or continue with the few things that make her world go around. There's a lot of talk of failure, cheating, retirement, stupidity. She's going to prove them all wrong. And no one is going to tell her otherwise.Concluída
Weigh Out Way-In
There is an unexpected turn in the story that drastically changes the course of events and, in the long run, even the lives of those involved. Magpie, the first to be involved, suddenly finds himself in the world so unlike his own. Will he find his place there or will he be at least able to go back home? He seems to find his way back from this new world of giga-dimensions but something unwanted happens, and things go worse. The cultural differences, together with a challenging personality traits of another involved in the events, suck Magpie and his friends into a downward spiral. The story challenges you to see the world differently from the perspective you are perhaps too used to and narrowed by. Life can be an adventure if you don't narrow it with a bigotry that forces you to be rooted in your trenches and behind your dividing walls. This doesn't mean you have to accept others' views without standing your ground. However, to be able to share our lives in this one and only world we need to make compromises, on both sides. Are you the first brave one to set this positive trend in motion? So read on and let the foundation of the story be laid. From the end of episode 1 on, the story really picks up, finally reaching its climax at the end of episode 3 with quite a surprising finish. Your participation in solving this shared challenge of coexistence and cooperation is highly appreciated. Remember those who cooperate make more progress than those who don't! The ideal audience for my first book is actually between 12 and 16, but anybody older and interested in adventures, cultures and in getting more understanding into our multifaceted world is sure to enjoy the story.
