We've all seen zombie movies; you know, the ones where the scary green men eat your brains and mumble nonsense? It all happens so quickly in the movies, but what they don't talk about is the build-up; the virus, the infection, the global panic.
When a new sickness called "the Ill" is brought up from Egypt, no one really worries.
"Oh, I won't get sick!" Some would say with a nonchalant wave of their hand. "This is all just government propaganda to keep our minds off of the real problems,"
What they don't know is that the Ill is in fact very real, and getting a lot closer to home than they had hoped for.
Vienna Hansen is a young woman who recently dropped out of college- deciding to finally live the way she wanted and life couldn't be any better for her. She has her own apartment, a loving cat, a best friend...
Her family decides to take a camping trip to get away from the stress of the city. She and her brother expect to find some game in the woods, but instead, she's met with the snapping jaws of the undead and a deep, gruesome scratch down the left side of her chest.
It seems that the Ill has infected almost everyone, and despite the dire circumstances, Vienna makes it her mission to search the country for her young nephew, and on the way discovers that she just might be the key to saving humanity.
