In the East, 14 year old Karsim is down with guilt after the entire Ravian Kingdom is ravaged after he seeks refuge with them. Aided by the young Ravian princess, Kestrel, they now journey to the Barwadyn Kingdom for refuge and to determine whether Karsim really is the Wind Mage.
But as their journey progresses, Karsim begins to realize that there is more to Kestrel than that which meets the eye.
On the other hand, Jairo not only begins understanding that his brother's death was no simple accident, he also realizes that he may not hate his sister after all.
On both ends, far more dangerous threats lie ahead.

The events in this book take place a hundred thousand years ago. Though not the main story, the incestuous unions that prevail in the Jarwyan Kingdom are an important sub plot in this series. Thus, the reader must be mature enough to understand the problematic nature of these traditions and must not endorse them in any way. I don't want 12-year-olds running wild with JamieXCersei 2.0 fantasies. So if you're younger than 16, shoo!

If you are interested in more complex topics and you do enjoy reading about the human psyche, with a more mature tone, fitting it's time, then I am really happy to take you with me through the story. But for everyone else I am sorry if you started this book with different expectations just to be hit with mature themes and I would really ask for you to not comment how disappointed you are in the direction I take the story bc this is really a story I intended to tell even if it's not for you personally. My english isn't perfect, and I apologize for phrasing things in a very clumsy way sometimes and I appreciate any help to better my writing and criticism regarding my writing. Honestly I really want to tell a story in the most captivating way and every reader is much needed feedback.
