Wendy Mackerel was a natural born Super-Taster. She gained fame as an award-winning sommelier at the age of twenty-one. She developed a cooking show. She wrote cookbooks. She traveled the world as a kitchen consultant and helped countless restaurants earn their stars. Her sense of taste was researched by scientists, her ability to detect even a single grain of salt in a dish was considered a miracle of human development. Wendy Mackerel was the goddess of the taste bud.
It was at the peak of her super-tasting career that she received a letter in the mail that left a horrible taste in her mouth, a letter that threatened the life she'd come to love.
What happens next will take Wendy on an international quest to save the ones she loves by pulling of a series of culinary heists that will challenge even the best chef's palate in the world. Can Wendy complete these tasks of kitchen espionage without being caught? Or worse: killed?
