As my wife sank to the floor, tears dampening her shirt, I felt helpless. All I wanted was to run to her, comfort her, kiss each tear away until she became a mess of giggles and the sadness fled from those beautiful, beautiful eyes of hers. But I couldn't. The dead can't comfort. And the dead aren't seen. Victor Hayes had it all - at least, by his definition of all. A small house in the Colorado mountains, a job as a local veterinarian, and the one thing that meant more to him than anything in this god forsaken world. His wife, Vera. On his way home from work one night, his car is struck by the force of a train- or at least it seems that way. Victor is the victim of the towns worst drunk driving accident, and due to this he leaves the love of his life all alone in a world where they only had each other.

"Are you sure you want to come down? The ladder is really unsturdy," the boy questioned, not wanting you to hurt yourself at his expense. You simply scoffed, it's difficult to say no to seeing such a gorgeous man. "Shut it McCormick, I'm coming down out of my own free will. I've been waiting to spend time with you all day."
