Irene and Agust barely talk to each other at school. Irene is serious, lonely, hardworking and an overachieving student. Agust is a talented basketball player but socially reserved, shy, and quiet with a troubled home life. At the same time, they're both intensely private. However, Irene and Agust constantly stay in each other's orbits because Irene's best friend, Ella is dating Agust's best friend, Daniel.

One day Agust approaches Irene with an important but personal favor. When she agrees to help him, things take a sudden drastic turn between the two of them. Their relationship starts growing into something more than causal nods and "hellos" in the hallways and vague academic conversations during lunch breaks. Suddenly, senior year brings along many changes and opportunities to create new beginnings, but only if the two of them allow it.
