Kaleah is 18 she's driven, determined, and tries to stay under the radar. She is very motivated and does not take life for granted she does it exactly just what she wants and goes for it. She is a happy girl with excellent grades, and her life seems perfect, but her life is just the complete opposite. She has two jobs, one working for a photography business that takes her for granted and the other being a tutor for the other students in her school. It's just her and her brother taking care of their mother. She's trying to make some extra cash to be able to pay for her treatment while shes on a time crunch.
Nathan is just the opposite he's 18, popular, has a bad attitude and believes he deserves anything and everything. He's the center man on his hockey team and is the best player out of the entire school. He has a full ride with his scholarship,until his coach tells him that if he doesn't pick up his grades soon and fast then he's off the team. He can't afford to lose his scholarship with his dad that takes the word strict to a whole other level and is a crazy drunk if he loses that scholarship he will be stuck in this town he's been trying to get out of.
Once Kaleah and Nathan have a bad interaction they find out real soon how close there about to get when Nathan gets Kaleah as his tutor. They find out just how alike they are then they admit.

An Unexpected Moment
... that changes everything Sarah was starting her junior year of high school. Looking at herself in the mirror, she saw a pretty average blonde haired, blue eyed, teenager. She was neither in the popular group, nor one of the many cliched outsiders. Sarah was a nobody. She liked to blend in and lay low. It was her way out of not only this town, but her house.
