Grand Duchess Azalea Rafflesia isn't a good person. She's not as bad as her 'mother' mind you, but she admits her moral compass is a bit askew, so when the Emperor asks her to join and put an end to a war against a queen gone mad from grief, Azalea decides to indulge him and goes to the front with a group of her own mostly to punish him. Her power is growing quickly though, almost too much for her body to manage, and it isn't until the truth of this world is shown to her that she learns why; she's the last descendant of the demon Amrak, a great force that helped shape the world and she knew it.
With her power ever changing and a devil in her ear, Azalea must prepare to face the Mad Queen to stop her quest against all magic and those who use it, and a betrayal will devastate the very fabric of the world as she travels with her lovers and others who all come, albeit reluctantly, to aid in ending the war. But what evil could walk the earth if not her, and will even her power be enough to save the few she holds dear?
