The truth is out. Rose Quartz, the leader of the Crystal Gem rebellion, was Pink Diamond all along. It shocked all of the Gems, but Steven was the most affected. His anger now only grows, seeing that his mother, who he once looked up too, was nothing more than a coward, a murderer, and a liar. What pushes him over the edge is when Pearl and the other Crystal Gems still want him to be like her. Pearl doesn't realize, though, that she will set off a chain of events that nobody could've predicted, starting with her 'baby' going back to when it all began. In one cataclysmic moment, nearly every Gem on Earth was presumed wiped from existence, including White Diamond's precious Phantom Quartz. But not all of them were lost. One Phantom Quartz remained, poofed before the corruption wave hit, trapped in a bubble by Rose Quartz for reasons unknown. Left to drift in forgotten ruins for centuries, he only reawakened in the present day, emerging into a world where Homeworld had abandoned Earth, the war was long over, and his kind had become little more than a myth.

Not everything is as simple as black is from white and if this turns into eons worth of pain and heartbreak. The only question is this, which diamond will give out first? Which diamond will give in to the pain and hatred that was caused by each other first? With the long-forgotten court rising and their leader making a return. Only the shadows of darkness and heavy memories are to follow with every step that is taken by the Black Court's leader. All Steven can do is make a journey through the darkness in order to find the hidden light within the Black court. Steven, Homeworld, Danger... Diamonds... Those words don't sound too comforting together, right? Who said this was a comforting story? For Steven and the gems, things finally don't go right. When Steven is separated from Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl during the attempt to retrieve his father from the zoo, he is found, and quickly identified as a rose quartz gem... and not just any, but the rebellion leader's own son. Blue and Yellow Diamond create a master plan to finally eliminate the Crystal Gems, and Steven is the key to doing so. All they have to do is play a game of emotions, and things will soon fall into their hands, due to a very unlikely snitch. Will Steven be able to resist the Diamonds and escape, or will Steven's Universe crumple because of himself? (Rated T, to be on the completely safe side, but I seriously doubt there will be anything too bad in my fanfiction, as I am trying to make it as close to the style of the show as possible! AU, takes place right after 'That Will Be All'. I DO NOT OWN STEVEN UNIVERSE! REBECCA SUGAR DOES! ONLY CHARACTERS NOT MENTIONED IN THE SHOW BUT ARE IN THIS FANFICTION BELONG TO ME! SLOW UPDATES Many years ago, a gem emerged on the homeworld near the diamond palace. Pink, being the first one to recognize a gem emerging, told the other 3 diamonds about the information. As all four of them watched the new gem merge, it was discovered that the gem was born with two gems instead of one. Instead of shattering the gem, white diamond decided to keep them as they were a rare cut gem with an abnormal two gems instead of one. After the discovery, they decided to name the gem, Y/N. Y/N soon lived underneath the Diamonds and was treated as if she was a diamond herself. After Pink shattered, Y/N was heavily protected and had a harness around her at all times, always around either the diamonds or heavily guarded by two topazes and a jasper. After being allowed to roam around the Gem Warship, she was stopped by Steven who convinced her to help him find his friends and escape. After the explosion, she was founded by The Crystal Gems and was officially their 'hostage'. From being heavily guarded and kept within eyes sight and inside her whole life into being outside and experiencing many different emotions for the first time. This is when her story begins.
