As an avid- and fairly unsuccessful- writer of fantasy fiction, I know that dragons are pretty much the pinnacle of existence. I dare anyone to argue. So, when my mundane existence comes to an end and I am offered a choice of whatever race I liked upon reincarnating into a fantasy world, of course I chose dragon. You all know the old fairy-tale's where an evil and cruel dragon kidnaps the princess because of her beauty and then knights in shinning armour arrives to save her. After saving her they get the half of the kingdom and marry the princess and lives happily ever after.. But this story is very different... There was once were a beautiful, kind princess named Lydia who got engaged to a prince, but the princess wasn't in love with him at all. One day as she was sleeping peacefully in her bed with her window opened, a dragon named Lithon attacked the kingdom. In it's attack on the kingdom the dragon flew to the castle and was going to destroy it from pure hatred for the royal family, but then he saw the princess through her open window. The dragon fell for her beauty immediately, so he decided to kidnap her, it would also be the perfect revenge on the royal family. So the dragon took the princess to his place, the princess was of course not happy about that and she did freak out. She didn't wanted to live with a dragon! But then, the dragon reached it's house and he changed into a handsome young man! Even though its forbidden for them to be together, the princess slowly fell for the dragon and the dragon fell for her.. but how will this fairy tale end..? like every other, where the prince comes and slay the dragon and gets the girl, or will it be different this time? The Song of Deirdre Part I by lhogue

Deirdre Morningsong returns to Skyrim seeking vengeance on the Nords who murdered her parents, only to be captured by Imperial soldiers who mistake her for a Stormcloak rebel. After escaping both the Imperial dungeons and the destructive return of the dragon Alduin, she resolves to discover what strange power is within her, and what the dragons have to do with it. Follows the main quest lines of the game, weaving them into a story of adventure and romance, with numerous twists on the canon. I'm hoping it's equally enjoyable for those who've played the game and those who haven't. Trigger warnings: rape is mentioned, one is attempted and prevented, but none are completed. Some other sexual assault. The first chapters are PG-13, but later ones become R-rated. (Feedback on appropriate ratings appreciated.) Skyrim is part of the Elder Scrolls series of games, copyright by Bethesda Softworks. The image for the book cover is from the game. I've only posted Part I here, but will soon post the rest (four parts total, 62 chapters). I've worked in nonfiction up to now because it's easier for me to describe places and events I can experience first-hand. I'm hoping that writing this fanfic will be a bridge to doing more of my own fiction.
