PART ONE:
In the heart of the segregated 1900s, a white couple defies society's expectations by adopting two Black boys. Despite their love for each other, tragedy strikes in the form of a devastating car accident-one that alters their reality forever.

PART TWO: (Purgatory)
Caught in the space between life and death, each family member must navigate a nightmarish landscape filled with terrifying creatures and twisted trials. Their only hope of peace is to reunite and overcome the darkness together.

Author's Message
The color of our skin should never decide the weight of our worth. Beneath it all, we share the same pulse - one rhythm, one heart, one fragile, beautiful humanity. In a world painted with differences, kindness is the only language that never needs translation. We are all just souls trying to find peace, trying to love, trying to live.

I began writing this because the word racism has always struck me like a wound - sharp, heavy, and undeserved. It's a word that carries too much pain for its size. It divides where there should be unity, it hurts where there should be healing. No one should ever feel less than human because of the shade of their skin. My grandmother taught me that love sees beyond color. She never measured people by appearance - only by their hearts. Every child, every adult, she treated with the same warmth, the same respect, the same unwavering truth. From her, I learned that real strength is gentle, and real justice begins with compassion.

So I write for her. I write for those who were silenced, for those who have been seen only through the world's narrow lens. I write because love deserves louder voices than hate. And I hope that somewhere within these words, you remember what she taught me -
that the heart knows no color,
and humanity was never meant to be divided.

||| A Memoir Of Sorts ||| --- Her breath had started to pick up, they were rough. It was then that she crashed into a rough hard chest. Ralph had been distracted, his dog George had been walking in a funny manner. It was like a hop, sort of. When he had been looking down at his dog with a smile adorning his freckled face, he crashed into someone with rough breathing. Erin looked up at a kind looking face; his dull green eyes were familiar. His ginger hair swept over his forehead, it was like any moment he could make one of those cliché hair flips. God, she hoped he wouldn't flip his hair. Ralph looked down at the heavy breathing girl, she had icy blue eyes that were piercing, but they were also filled with some sort of fear. He wondered why she would be so filled with fear at this moment. He was worried for her; her heavy breathing has lessened but was still there. "Are you alright?" He asked hurriedly. --- This is a true story. This story has edited settings, for the sake of the said story. Ages and Names are changed, for the sake of the story. But, the important, crucial parts of the story remain. This was a difficult time in my life, and I was an idiot when it came to him. I'll admit that now, denying is useless. ME 2 YEARS OLDER: This thing is really dramatic and I mostly just keep it up to see how I approved while writing it and how I've improved since but like just. dRAMATIC. Not even good dramatic tbh. Like why. I mostly wrote this to get over stuff and I did and I have so this is really weird to read back and to people who are characters aghh

Their duty to the human race brings them across the country--and they all know it is no coincidence when they cross paths with Jane. As it happens, Jane is special. She has heard that some run but most, pretty much all, just go over. They go peacefully but Resa cannot believe they go happily. Older than her husband, she must go alone. She is given a guide dog to help her to make sense of the transition, to be with her, to be the be the only thing she knows on the day she turns 55. She doesn't even know what to call it.
