Through his journey, he uncovers the once sinister past of the world and bridges the gap between mortal and immortal.

To be clear, he only really cares about fame and money. The whole saving the world stuff is just a by-product of the whole hero shenanigans. But when stuff hits the fan, he's there to turn the fan off.
