Scott Tadashi is a downtrodden teenage boy who always seems to be daydreaming, and rarely shows emotion, like he won't allow it. This would often cause him to be the subject of bullying. He has trouble connecting with others and so after seeing Scott's condition worsen, his mom decides to send him off to his grandma's, hoping that spending some time at the obscure little home nestled in the woods would help Scott clear his head. Scott was reluctant to go but his mom insisted it would be good for him, so he packed and his mom drove him to his grandma's. After doing everything entertaining he could think of, he finally resorts to leaving the house and exploring the woods. Little did Scott know, the person he would meet in the woods would change his life forever.

Going to a public school as an autistic, highly intelligent boy, he clearly notices the differences between his classmates and himself, giving him a lot of insecurity and shame about his own behaviour. As his escape, he goes to a bakery for hours a day to calm his mind, but things change when a new boy who moved is hired. Unexpectedly, and for the first time, George decides to open himself up to the new boy, Clay, while at the same time, Clay slowly starts falling for his new best friend, George. Mostly fluff with some angst every now and then! ⚠️ I wrote this book from my own experience and my own mindset, as someone with diagnosed autism, highly intelligent and ADHD. I DON'T think people with autism are childish or cute, I'm not projecting a stereotype. This is from my own struggles with autism at a public school without special needs.

After being outed to the only people he now disliked the most, his parents react worse than expected and Clay falls into a pit of loneliness when he gets sent to conversion therapy to "turn him straight again". George had homophobic parents too and goes through the same. When times are at its worst somehow these two meet each other and now they are isolated from reality in the therapy school.
