The story is a historical love-hate fiction revolving around two kingdoms, their conflicts, betrayals, and the complex relationship between Manik, the crown prince of Pratapganj, and Nandini, the princess of Maheshgarh.
Nandini, a princess whose kingdom has been defeated, is brought to Pratapganj as part of the spoils of war. The weight of her family's destruction; her brothers lost or killed, her sisters-in-law and womenfolk forced into Johar (self-immolation), hangs heavily over her. The loss of her kingdom and her people fuels her anger and grief, making her determined to never bow to her captors.
Manik, the crown prince of Pratapganj, is torn between his love for Nandini and his duties to his kingdom. Years ago, the two had secretly nurtured a bond while studying together at a gurukul, where their feelings for one another grew. But war and politics severed their ties, leaving both of them heartbroken.
In the battle of hearts, who'll claim the prize?
