Jovie, the test subject of Hawkins Lab no one had heard of, had been fighting monsters alongside Eleven and the others for years. But this year, she feels hopeful. Everything has returned to norma, and the evil seems to be gone. But then, she starts hanging out with Eddie Munson, her classmate of multiple years, and everything changes. Her feelings, her view, her opinions. 

And that's not the only thing that changes. The upside-down is back, but this time, they brought their strongest soldier, Vecna. So not only is Jovie fighting Vecna like the badass she is, but she's doing it while figuring out her feelings for Eddie (and her childhood friend, Steve).
