Breathe

Red.

That's all I could see as I sprinted down the wide corridor. I could feel my fingertips pulsing as the rushed thumping in my ears only became louder. I was running blindly until I had just rounded the sharp corner of the exhibit's enclosure, where I came to a screeching stop.

The first thing that I took into account was the blood.

In front of me were bodies, scattered around the room. All of them who were once genius scientists who I ate dinner with just a few hours ago, and just the thought made me nauseous.

But what made my blood run cold was when I looked up briefly and noticed a large hole the size of my palm staring back at me, and the absence of anything alive in the miniscule enclosure.

My head turned back to the doorway and everything in me stilled.

The creature had escaped.

Bronwyn was just your average college student, one who was dedicated to getting her degree in the fashion of marine biology. Although things soon took a turn when she was requested to a place 2,000 feet below the ocean's surface. She accompanied 3 students just as baffled as her, and soon they all managed to understand why the government kept all the details hidden. These people were hiding secrets, ones that would decide whether any of them would ever see and feel the sun shining on them again. Bronwyn realized her mistake in accepting the invitation, but was it too late?
