Olivia Ramos has a curse and one she makes sure stays hidden. She can sense the spirits of the deceased. This, among other things, has earned her a #1 spot on the school's hit list.

Jacob Grayson is the school's main character. Rich, athletic, intelligent and, unfortunately for Olivia, he's also her main tormentor.

When Jacob goes missing, the small town of Ely is left with little to no hope of finding him alive. Especially after the gruesome details of the crime scene are released.

Everyone hopes for the best but presumes the worst.

After Jacob wakes up with no recollection of his weekend escapades and no clue as to everyone's silent treatment, he soon discovers he is no longer in his physical, living form.

And, to his misfortune, the only person who can see him is the one who is the least inclined to help.

Now, Olivia must decide whether to let Jacob become a part of the many spirits that roam the earth or help him solve his own murder.
