And I let it happen. I closed my eyes, turned my back, and gave in to the sunlight.

And for the first time, I've experienced a sunburn. It was too good, too perfect. I hadn't noticed my own mind bleeding out in guilt, the burn covering me entirely until I fell to an ache.

I let my false peace lull me into a deadly sleep, my skin too far gone for repair.

A bad relationship that was once so sweet has put Eos Dextral in a bad spot. She knows she wants to leave, find happiness in her photography, but when her demon is her boss, caretaker, and has a guard that keeps you in check there isn't much she can do. Or so she thinks.

Theodore King, a bear shifter that's based in northern Canada. He's in America for business dealings but runs into her while she's eating her treat for being good, a strawberry donut. He wanted to take her then, give her the world, but she is dragged away then beaten for punishment.

When Theodore finds where she works and offers her the chance to be a personal photographer for his company, it's an offer she can't refuse. Her saving grace, her personal angel, whatever he needs to be.

And once she accepts the offer, he has much more to give to her. At least, as much as his little one will let him give while she's healing from the past she runs from.

But for all its worth, what does a volcano God have to do with it?
