Death is one of those things that people hoped and prayed wouldn't come sooner. I used to be like that. Until I became death. When you're trapped in this void of darkness with no hope in escaping, that is when you welcome death with open arms. Because the only feeling I felt was death. Death is numbing. Death is silent. However, death does not necessarily mean bringing pain, sadness and grief. In some cases, death is the only thing that makes us feel alive and when you have no one to grieve for you, you have nothing to be your anchor. Twisted, isn't it? We take for granted our family, our friends, our partners; but as soon as death comes out to play, we either scurry away and cower in fear or we idiotically try to face it straight on. In our minds, there is no other option. And without option, in that moment, we welcome death.
