It's twenty years into the future, and the U.S. government is tired of their citizens eating unhealthily. After banning all fatty, sugary, salty junk food (in other words, McDonald's is no longer existent in America), fourteen-year-old Kevin Simmons goes to extreme lengths to ensure that everyone gets their daily dose of comfort food.
This short story was inspired by a prompt in Writer's Digest, Fall 2014 edition.

Bay Carter has gone through thick and thin. She wouldn't have gotten through it without her mother for sure. Her father was there for some of it before he was murdered which led to Bay being the new owner of the piece of property her father had wanted to make his dream come true at. He wanted to make a diner. He wanted to have amazing family recipes that they only would know, but he didn't survive long to achieve that. ***** Adrian Alfonzo is a very powerful man in the United States. He has the largest business ever known to exist that is spread out all throughout America. He use to daydream of love, but he doesn't anymore. He is twenty seven years old and believed it was time to give up the hope for love. Instead of daydreaming about love, He daydreams about expanding his business even more. He drowns himself in work so he doesn't have to go home often. He hates the loneliness at his home. But, that stops the moment Bay comes into his life. He can't seem to let her go after he meets her.
