in this world. you have wings, you're born with them and you die with them, if you didn't fly, you didn't fit in. And I'm not talking about Superman flight or rocket boots; In today's world, we have actual wings, wings of birds, insects, dragons, basically anything imaginable. And me?, well, I'm a crow, nobody really likes crows.

Did I mention yet that I'm terrified of flying? well more specifically falling,  so I usually stay on the ground whether I want to or not. (I do, it's safer)

I don't have many friends because of this, but i don't mind. I'd rather have people care about *me* then people only caring about my status and abilities.

I've just got enough saved for this new place to finish school, let's hope this isn't a second hell of middle school. then again, anything is better then my old home life. *deep breath* alright, here we go.

I am determined to show the world that flying doesn't determine a person. Even if I have to die in the end because of it.

Stronger than 1 but she doesn't turn into a giant monkey. She has better accuracy than 2.... Somehow.... But her weapon of choice would've bee a bow and arrow. She has 3's same power but she doesn't like to use it except to get what she wants and her sister's doesn't work on her. She can transform like 6 could. She can see him like 4. The only other one that can. He was always afraid of his power drowns it out by getting high. But they were kind of her only friends minus her brother and their more dangerous sister. 5 and her liked to race each other the only difference is, is that as smart as he is she's a better jumper. But she has the most in common with 7. They're both seen as too dangerous and her powers like her sister's are awaken and work because of their emotions. She's more dangerous though because she can mirror her siblings powers. She trained herself her dad never cared about her. He always cared about his non biological children more. And he only cared enough about them to train them but he didn't care about any of them. She was born the same day they were and the same age. She wasn't born the same way though. It was more like a science experiment. He gave a serum to get the one person he trusted to have her and made it timed to the day. Maybe that's why she has their same powers or why she's more dangerous. The only thing that ever worked on her was.... I'll tell you later. But none of them remember she has powers.

My curse just gave them a reason. You see, the normal population with ordinary DNA, they don't know about the people like me. The roaches of the world. We don't get that kind of recognition at the camps. There, we are only one thing in the military's eyes. We are weapons and we will act like it. Everyone else out there, bathing in the goodness they don't know they've got, they don't know about the roaches their stepping on. As long as their getting closer to the sky, they don't care what they stand on to reach it. They don't know about the sparkling dreamer that's killed 7 people before her 17th birthday. They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. The events and themes within my pages have meaning, depth, truth-and most of all, reality. You are about to be taken on an adventure about a girl who's life is not like everybody else's. I look like a normal teen girl, I mean, I have hair and two eyes and two hands and feet like everybody else, but I couldn't feel more different. I have two moms, yes. Let's just get that out there before you start reading and close my diary like everyone in my life has shut me out of theirs. All I want is a normal life with normal friends who don't judge me because of my home situation. I don't even remember the last time I went on a sleepover or called somebody my age. I don't mean to be a downer, because it does get better. Life gets better. Struggles are only temporary, I know that now. And by my last words reach your eyes, I've come a long way, and have grown to see potential in myself. I'm sharing this with you because I want to make a difference. I know now that I'm not the only one in the world that feels alone. I've been there, done that, and there's more loneliness to come, but for now, I feel more prepared for it. I know how it feels to sit by yourself at lunch every day and how it feels to watch others go to prom with dates and feel like shit because you don't think you'd even have any friends to go with. Please ready my diary. I am much older now, and much more wiser, and I can't wait for you to realize the potential in yourself, too.

I have a kingdom to learn, powers to master, loud friends to keep in line, a boy that I'm messed up over, and above it all, Darkness to show whose boss. Not as easy as you might think, but this is MY story, and I know how it ends. Being a loyal follower of Light shows me the beauty in life and the devastation it can cause. Don't get me wrong, I love Light, but Darkness makes it hard to stay and fight. * Melody is weird. She's childish. She's awkward. And she's got boy issues she needs to work out. Mel will face evil like no other, but can she do it? Will the scales of Light and Darkness finally be tipped? How can one girl make a difference? My mother says my endless curiosity and my need to venture is a curse. Though, I know she only says that because I'm just like my father; who went out to curb his appetite for new experiences and never came home. Do I feel abandoned? No. How could I? Not when I fully understand the craving... Fae almost never leave Avalon. It's rare, and normally Fae that leave Avalon are forced into exile. Hardly ever do they leave voluntarily. My mother hates to see me leave, and a part of me is ashamed to do so, seeing as I'm basically abandoning her like my father. But she has my baby brother, Almned, who isn't even 500 yet. And I'm one penalty away from serving time in the Avalonian Guardhouse. Which is ridiculous, considering I have only broken a few rules. Avalon used to be a vast place of freedom, a sanctuary for persecuted Fae, the Homeland where everyone had a voice. Well... Avalon is not what it used to be... Maybe the Otherworld will be big enough to spread my wings. *** What happens when a Fae leaves Avalon and befriends a Human? Yes, my book is rated mature. Though, it really isn't THAT bad. I really tried to keep it clean. Also, this is a part 1. Part 2 will come eventually.
