Carla and Royce have been best friends since high school - ever since the day he stood up for her against a group of bullies. From that moment, their friendship became unshakable. They were inseparable through exams, heartbreaks, and dreams that changed over time. Now, at twenty-eight, life looks different. Carla is a hardworking office employee - smart, loyal, and a little rough around the edges. Her tomboy charm hides the scars left by her past; an abusive father taught her to be wary of love, to equate romance with pain. So, she never dated. She laughs, she teases, she lives - but she never lets anyone in. Royce, meanwhile, has become the embodiment of success - young, rich, and handsome, having built his own IT company from the ground up. He's dated a few women, but no relationship lasts long. What no one knows - least of all Carla - is that every date was an attempt to forget her. Every breakup, a reminder that he never could. Their friendship remains the one constant in both their lives - built on trust, laughter, and years of unspoken care. But as they grow older, the lines begin to blur. A casual touch lingers too long. A jealous pang sneaks in when someone else flirts. And when Carla faces a personal crisis that forces her to confront the fears she's buried for years, Royce has to decide - does he keep being her best friend, or risk it all to be something more? Because loving Carla means being patient. It means breaking through walls she doesn't even realize she built. And for Carla, learning to love Royce back means learning that not every man becomes his father.
