My name is Jack Slean, and- if you didn't know me- you might think I was just an normal person. I mean; I looked normal; I had ordinary, messy brown hair, and normal, blue eyes. But my life is about as far from normal as you can get.

You know all those myths about Greek, and Roman gods? Well, brace yourself for it: they're real. And all those stories about the gods coming to Earth and having kids with regular mortals? Also real. I'm the proof. I wish I could tell you that my godly parent is Zeus, or Poseidon, or even Hades; but nope. I'm a halfblood son of Hermes, god of theives, messengers, and everything else none of the other gods wanted to be in charge of.

But, y'know: sometimes that comes in handy. For example: when I'm supposed to be going on quests to save the world.

And you thought you were under pressure to do well in your school tests?

I mean, after monsters and gods, fireballs and homework, is one day off from being almost murdered really too much to ask for?

Y'know what? Don't answer that.
