Luca didn't choose to have tainted blood. He was a survivor, a fighter, making it out of a mass genocide of all creatures that resided in the Elder forest years ago. He thought he found a family of survivors among the nine other boys he lived with. But they had always treated him differently, like he was born a monster and didn't become one after that fateful night.
Now that he's of age and he's able to feel the soulmate bond woven between the group of survivors he's not sure he wants to stay with people who are so quick to judge him and cast him aside....
