Abominations, freaks, monsters; society has forever ostracized those who stand out. And when the discovery of a new mineral leads to people developing supernatural abilities, these "Abnormals" are treated no differently. However in the wake of a catastrophic event that left everyone wondering whether it was the end, everything changed. Now Abnormals are appreciated more than ever as an era of Superheroes was born, inspired by the heroes who saved the World! But this story isn't about those heroes, instead we follow Elliot Campbell, seventeen years later, in the waning years of Superhero popularity. Elliot is your average bystander who struggles everyday to stay above rock bottom, except for one big problem; he is an absolute loser, incapable of making correct decisions. That is until he is offered the power to change the course of his life forever. He could become an Abnormal or even more hopeful he could become a Superhero! Except that the way he would get his powers isn't exactly above board & the people he would be joining are fighting crime outside of the law. Is this the chance he must take to turn his life around or just another BIG mistake in a long long list of them?

That was also the day I realized something else. They were all around me in the crevices, places I wouldn't even think to expect of, people I hadn't realized were any different. Actors, dancers, musicians, presidents, and politicians. People I looked up to, people I looked down to. Just like me and just like Charley. They think and laugh and love, they're no different from anyone, they had their strengths and weaknesses. They are all abnormal, sure, but so is everything else and everyone else.

Long ago a group of superheroes and villains worked together to prevent an invasion. But they managed to kill more people than they saved. Their destruction caused the perception of those with powers to dramatically shift; to the point of outcast. 50 years later crime as only increased to the point where not even the police respond to calls. Few heroes went into hiding to 'play normal'; like my family and I. I live in New Haven City. I've been lucky enough that I don't have powers that attract too much attention --- Everything was going great. Everything was normal. Until Jamie was forced to confront the reality of her situation. The mayor who has been running the NSA was beginning to take drastic measures. Sending many supers off to another island. Stealing their powers. Forcing others to betray their own kind. The victims of these horrific acts are not taking that lightly. Why not make a team of heroes? A team that doesnt give a shit what the NSA or the Mayor has to say. A team of young teens who probably don't even listen to each other. That will save the world...

I am normal. Or at least I thought I was. I didn't think I was special. I didn't know I could be someone else. Someone who's not me. Someone who's magical

I don't know whether I'm human or a demon. I don't know what my purpose here is. all I know is that I'm not normal, and I never will be. I am treated different no matter how people see me. I am not normal like them yet they treat me with kindness. I am lucky, to have such a life when the people around me are suffering.

For Jess, that's difficult because he's been neglected by almost everyone and doesn't even realize it. He's special because he is an Innate, a person who possesses incredible abilities. But he doesn't know it. But not until he meets fellow Innates, Jackson, Ace, Robert, Sarra, Zach and Alice. WE LIVE AMONG YOU. WE ARE NOT NORMAL. WE ARE DIFFERENT. WE ARE CALLED, INNATES. What if there was a secluded academy for Innates residing at an oblivious area of the solar system? What if Jess completely changes himself for good? Is this really the correct answer-to leave my family, friends, and my normalness. I want to believe that I can manage that burden. Mary. "It's better when you don't think about it, but if you do-don't use some half ass reason to justify it." My life changed the moment I met you, and I swear to repay you for your kindness. Because you and everyone else are my family. There are people in this world who work in the shadows protecting everyone from the evils of the world and I was lucky enough to witness this first hand. --- I wrote these characters and the baseline of the story all the way back in 2nd grade. Now, 17 years later, I decided to actually turn it into a full flesh story. I will note that it may be somewhat confusing to read due to the way I write in this. But over time it will become easier.

Growing up can be hard, especially if you're doing it all by yourself while living miles away from your friends and family. But things get even harder when you discover that you're not exactly who you think you are. Suddenly everything changes... and you're forced to make decisions you never thought you'd ever have to make. But... maybe it's not so bad. Luckily for you, you have people watching - people who want to protect you. And then there are others. Unfortunately, I do not own the Marvel's X-men or any of their pictures which I happened to find using Google Images. I certainly wished I owned the rights to this genius fiction because they're practically my life.
