"The devil is in Saratoga! The devil is in Saratoga!"
John watches the hysteria that has been caught by the people of Saratoga. Women, children, the poor and the rich. The old, the young. The people are losing hope. This has been a series of unfortunate events. Right now the town of Saratoga are currently gathered around to wish farewell to Oryn and pay his young widowed mother condolences. Poor, poor Cordelia. She just lost her husband not even a week ago. His body was found at the bottom of the stream and his throat was cut right open.
Now she has to say goodbye to her 8 year old son who was found hanging from a tree.
"This is for sure witchery!" an elderly woman cries out. "The devil is in Saratoga!"
Cordelia weeps and weeps as her mother and dear sister holds on to her tightly.
John looks down at his feet sadly. He feels sorry for the poor woman and for Saratoga. Because if the devil really is in Saratoga, what can they do other than pray.
