Marie Johnson is your average teenage girl with an average teenage life. That is until someone at her school gets brutally murdered, but despite that, her school, Astrid High School, still sends them on a field trip to a strange school called Fortuna University. Soon enough, Marie's boring life turns into a complete shit show and a thrilling adventure as she and her friends investigate this murder.
Jacob Roberts also has an uneventful life with his adopted mother and his sister, who lives in the United Kingdom. He hates change, but he has to learn to live with it when his classmate is murdered and he's forced to investigate it with Lacy and Marie.
Lacy Smith is the most wholesome and kind person to ever walk the earth, but her patience is finally put to the test at Fortuna when innocent people are killed and her own life is threatened along with her friends. She finds herself frustrated and annoyed most of the time and she lashes out, but rightfully so. You would to if you were kidnapped...
