a special, yet lesser-known pocket-watch of a shen gong wu, the Watch of Hypnos, brings the xiaolin monks to New Orleans, Louisiana in the good ole US of A, and during Mardi Gras. only they don't have the time to join in on the celebration, because they are on a shen gong wu mission for the sake of the entire world. even after their success in retrieving the wu, they cannot go back to their home temple right away as the New Orleans sun has long since set after they had found the wu. they look for shelter throughout the city of New Orleans, though their search winds up more and more in vain.
they finally find shelter in an old-looking, seemingly abandoned mansion alongside the end of a dimly lit road. there's more to the owner and his staff than meets the eye, though. what possible secrets does this fanfiction hold for the young monks, and why is the owner so unusually hospitable towards Kimiko, and yet slightly aloof towards Dojo and every last one of the guys all while pretending none of them exist?
