" When will my life begin? "

Richie has been looking out the window of his tower every year on his birthday to watch the lights that go off, seemingly for him. On his eighteenth birthday, he decides that this is the year to go. And when a couple of thieves break into his tower, he decides that they're perfect to take him.

But while he's gone, Mother Gothel will be looking for him, desperate to keep her little secrete and his hair to herself.

But, to Richie's surprise, there are others who care about him, unlike what his mother had always told him. Like the barbarians at the bar, a horse, and the thieves...especially "Jaylyn".
