The way of life has reverted back to the medieval times, where a man made virus, used as a biological weapon by the US, has made majority of the population infertile. The children of those lucky enough to reproduce, are taken at birth, and auctioned off to the highest bidder. The Emperor's Emporium, is essentially a baby market, ran by the wealthiest and most powerful man to survive the war, Emperor Musk, former president of the US.
