Zelda and Link have just defeated Calamity Ganon, the vicious monster who terrorized Hyrule for 100 years. The two heroes care deeply for the other, but are too afraid to share their feelings. They don't have time to wash up after the bloody battle, let alone hint at their feelings toward each other, before they are wisked away to a strange new world.
Link and Zelda are separated, left to their own devices to find each other again, find a way back home, and to put an end to the new evil knocking at the door.

The Princess and Her Knight - A Breath of the Wild FanFiction
Before the Great Calamity, Zelda and Link travel amongst Hyrule together. They must learn to tolerate each other on their journey. Zelda, having barely been able to leave the castle much before him, discovered her sense of adventure when she went out with Link. Is it possible that the two of them harbored a secret admiration for each other than ran deeper than friendship? Or would Link maintain his silence and not speak to the princess at all? Until The Last Breath
A lot of work needs to be done to rebuild Hyrule, and to convince others to help will take a lot of work from Link and Zelda. Having all his memories back, Link is plagued with thoughts and memories of the Champions, wishing he could go back in time and save them. He can't focus on the past too much though, because an incredible threat has woken up, and will certainly destroy Hyrule if nothing is done soon.
