Some people have a soulmate, a person who's personality perfectly balances with their own, someone who they are destined to be with. Not everyone has one, but there's one way for sure to know if you do.

When one soulmate is injured, a scar shows in that place on the other, bruises show as well. They don't usually feel each other's emotions until they are together, but sometimes, if the emotion is strong enough, they will.

When you find the strength to stand, you see him exactly mirroring you. The two of you stand facing each other and in the dull stove light you finally get a good look at him. He has brown tangled hair and wears a mask over his mouth and nose. His eyes are dull and lifeless. Like a drone. You are just noticing that his arm is metal when he pins you to the wall with it.

You don't scream. You don't cry. You don't struggle. The worst things you could imagine have already happened, what more can he do? After the nightmare you just had, killing you might just be a blessing.

He put his metal hand in the middle of your chest holding you firmly against the wall and he pulls out a knife. As he raises it you just bare your neck to him and close your eyes.

"Please make it quick"

When you don't feel anything you open your eyes to see him there frozen. His eyes flash as you see the person underneath this drone fighting and the war inside him is clear as day. Suddenly the knife clatters to the floor and he backs away from you.
