Wren is hot-blooded, impulsive, and crass. She's quick to draw her sword and even quicker to down a drink. She's known around town as a problem, just a lower-class girl with a big mouth, improperly mingling (and tussling) with men at the local tavern. No one expects anything from Wren but trouble, but little do they know that by night, she climbs the castle tower to visit her lover, the beautiful Princess Ivy. Ivy is everything that Wren is not: patient, measured, diplomatic, and soft-spoken. She could have any nobleman in the kingdom, but something about Wren's fiery passion sets her heart ablaze. She's the only one who makes Wren feel like she can be something more than a street rat. The only problem is that Ivy is of marrying age, and her father is eager to use his daughter's marriage to secure an alliance with a neighboring kingdom. If Ivy and Wren stand any chance at happiness, they'll need to act quick.
