Kenzley Shae loved Zander Hayes with her whole heart.
However, loving Zander hurt more than it did any good. Even with the big heart she had, it didn't get her adored, it got her used, especially by the person she loved most in this world.
Loving Zander through all the pain had her always hoping he would change into the man she had first fell in love with. Yet, a narcissist will take and take until you have nothing else to give but love. In the end, someone that only cares about themselves simply cannot love someone else.
She loved him with her whole heart but it was never enough for him. Too in love to leave, but too scared to stay. Traumatized to the point of never wanting to love again.
Full of triggering events, mental and physical abuse, lies he told, manipulation, begging for him the treat her right, gaslighting, stealing, drugs, and most of all a painful lesson in order to finally attempt to let go.

I think that's why we're still trying so desperately to get back to some sort of normalcy. Four years later and we're still on the ground, crawling, in search of the happiness that was lost that June. Summers will never be the same. Midnight walks through my neighborhood will never be the same. Field parties with bonfires and loud music will never be the same. I still don't know why you left and what lead you to the decision you made. What I do know is that we're here. We're alive and we're pushing forward to the future. A future that you're not a part of.
