My Unsuspected Mate

Angela stood silently before the massive window overlooking the Silver Moon territory, her heart pounding harder with every passing second. Dense forests stretched for miles beneath the pale morning sky, calm and untouched.

Today was her eighteenth birthday-the day she would finally meet her mate.

She should have been excited.

Instead, a strange feeling settled deep in her chest, heavy and unsettling, like something was coming.
